Black Creek Community Association

As we all drive by and admire the amazing new roof on our Black Creek Community Association we are reassured that this building, a gathering place and source of activities for our residents, has been rejuvenated and will be able to last for many more years.  The Board of Directors, volunteers, residents, parents and children of the community of Black Creek wish to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation (an agency of the Ontario government) for their most generous grant of $75,000.00 allowing for the completion of our Roof Project!  This renovation of our not-for-profit facility will well serve the residents of Black Creek for many years to come.

Twenty-five years ago a dedicated group of local Black Creek/Stevensville residents got together and decided to commit their time, money and volunteer service to purchase, renovate and operate the former Black Creek School at 2959 Baker Rd. as the Black Creek Community Center (BCCC). The building was in pretty rough shape when it was purchased, but through the vision, courage and tireless efforts of those committed volunteers, plus financial support of generous donors, the building was re-born as a facility for all in our community to use.

In 2011, the Black Creek-Stevensville Lions Club worked hard to obtain a $75,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to help pay for a new roof on the BCCC building. Although $75,000 is a very generous amount to receive, unfortunately it is not quite enough to cover the entire $90,000 cost of a new peaked truss/metal roof, which has a life expectancy of at least 40 years.

Buying a 2012 BCCA Membership or making a donation will help make the new peaked truss/metal roof on the Black Creek Community Centre a reality. 

The BCCA is a registered charity and tax receipts are available for donations.
